In 2022, our dedicated U15 and U18 academy teams took on the exciting challenge of competing in the group stages of the Cambodian youth leagues, showcasing their skills and passion for the game while representing our academy with pride.

A survivor of the Khmer Rouge and a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit, Puon Penh’s life journey is inextricably linked to the transformative force of sport. His childhood, marked by the unimaginable horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime, culminated in a harrowing escape to the United States, where he found himself navigating the challenges of a new culture and the harsh realities of impoverished urban life. In the face of adversity, sport became his refuge, a sanctuary where he could find strength, build resilience, and escape the temptations that claimed so many young lives. From the streets of his new home to the rigors of college and graduate school, and throughout a demanding two-decade career at Wells Fargo Bank, sports remained a constant companion, a source of both physical and mental well-being. It helped him navigate the stresses of raising four children while simultaneously building a successful career.

Now, having reached a point of profound personal success, Puon Penh dedicates his life to paying it forward, to empowering the next generation of Cambodian youth. This dedication is the driving force behind Siem Reap FC, a club that transcends the boundaries of the football pitch. It’s a platform for personal growth, a beacon of hope for a brighter future, and a testament to the enduring belief in the power of sport to inspire and transform lives. As Chairman, Puon Penh’s vision extends beyond the field of play, encompassing a holistic approach to youth development that integrates athletic training, education, financial literacy, and community engagement. He envisions a future where Cambodian youth have the opportunity to “Dream. Perform. Succeed,” not only as athletes but also as responsible and engaged citizens. His unwavering commitment to building a more sustainable and inclusive Cambodia is reflected in Siem Reap FC’s dedication to environmental sustainability and community outreach programs. Alexander Kütt’s journey from German footballer to CEO of Siem Reap FC reflects his passion and dedication to youth development. His early career, marked by success in Germany and Australia, led him to Cambodia in 2014. Since then, he’s been instrumental in building youth football programs, including establishing soccer schools and organizing leagues across several clubs. His four years with Siem Reap United saw him excel as International Marketing Manager, showcasing his entrepreneurial skills.

Beyond the pitch, Alexander fosters strong community ties. He actively supports players’ education and engages parents, creating a collaborative environment. His open communication style attracts sponsors and builds trust, exemplified by his successful partnership with Shine Singapore Helm Institute of Education. He’s passionate about expanding opportunities for all children, especially girls, having engaged over 1600 children from 263 primary schools in Siem Reap. His ability to build strong communities with limited resources, coupled with his exceptional communication and collaborative spirit, makes him a vital leader in Cambodian youth football.
